The School of Architecture and Urban Planning offers consecutive bachelor’s and licentiate’s degrees to obtain formal recognition as an Architect.
Training in architecture and urbanism uses scientific and technological approaches to find a balance between contemporary needs in these two areas.
It promotes integral development of students, emphasizing cultural, ethical and moral values, respect for the individual and the group, solidarity, responsibility, discipline, empathy, a love of knowledge, and the constant search for truth and equity.
It carries out programs that incorporate aspects of organization, structure, operation and integration of topics that illustrate the current state of architecture and urban planning, science and environmental demands, ideology and important morphological characteristics. In this way, students can visualize the close relationship between space, and the social, political, economic and artistic environments in the development of the cultural landscape.

The main academic objective of the agreement will be to create relationships between students and program graduates centered on construction; this will involve activities such as arranging visits to construction projects and assistance in choosing topics for graduation projects, familiarizing students with the practical realities of construction and the latest construction techniques in the Costa Rican construction environment, as well as the use of preventive methods for the reduction of construction waste (sustainability in construction methods) with the application of Modular Coordination criteria.
